The Oklahoma City Thunder send Byron Mullens back to the D-League

Blogged under Big Thunder News, General, Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 3 February 2011 at 10:20 pm

The Thunder have sent 21-year old center Byron Mullens back to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA’s D-League. Mullens has played in 12 games (0 starts) so far this year for the Thunder and he is averaging 4.7 minutes, 1.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game on 26.3% shooting from the floor. He has now played in 25 games (0 starts) in parts of two years with the Thunder and he is averaging 4.4 minutes, 1.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game on 31.6% shooting from the floor! Mullens has been awful but maybe he will be able to improve his game in the D-League seeing how he will likely get consistent P.T.

The Oklahoma City Thunder need Jeff Green to step up

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 21 January 2011 at 6:56 pm

24-year old starting power forward Jeff Green is having a very tough month so far in January. Green has played in 8 games so far this month and he is averaging 34.0 minutes, 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He is only shooting 38.9% from the floor, 29.6% from three point range (8 of 27) and 65% from the free throw line this month, and that’s pathetic! Green has now played in 35 games (all starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 37.2 minutes, 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Thunder need Green to step up if they are going to click on all cylinders on offense because Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook can’t do everything.

Nenad Krstic is starting to lose minutes for the Oklahoma City Thunder

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 28 December 2010 at 7:31 pm

27-year old center Nenad Krstic needs to pick up the pace or Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison are going to continue taking minutes from him. Krstic has played in 7 games this December so far and he is averaging 19.9 minutes, 8.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.4 asssits per game on 51% shooting from the floor. Krstic has now played in 22 games (all starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 23.8 minutes, 7.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.

James Harden just can’t get into the starting lineup for the Oklahoma City Thunder

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by admin on Monday 13 December 2010 at 6:38 pm

21-year old shooting guard James Harden just can’t seem to bump Thabo Sefolosha out of the starting lineup.  Harden has played in 25 games (2 starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 25.4 minutes, 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game.  He is only shooting 37.9% from the floor so far this year but he is making 40.5% from three point range.  26-year old Thabo Sefolosha is a defensive stopper for the Thunder.  He has played in 25 games (all starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 31.2 minutes, 6.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

Nenad Krstic needs to pick up the pace a little bit for the Oklahoma City Thunder

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Saturday 4 December 2010 at 7:18 pm

27-year old center Nenad Krstic needs to start playing a little better or Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison are going to start taking some minutes away from him. Krstic has played in 18 games (all starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 24.7 minutes, 7.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. Krstic is a solid veteran but he’s going to start getting pushed by second year man Serge Ibaka for minutes as he appears to have a huge upside.
