The Oklahoma City Thunder lose Kyle Weaver

Blogged under General, Big Thunder News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 30 November 2009 at 10:35 am

Back-up guard Kyle Weaver will undergo shoulder surgery later today and the Thunder will be without him indefinitely. Weaver played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Thunder this season and he was averaging 10.0 minutes, 6.0 points, 1.0 rebound, 1.7 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. This is a bad break for Weaver who was in line to get a chance to really show what he can do.

UPDATE: Weaver will likely miss the next four months due to his surgery.

The Oklahoma City Thunder lose Kevin Ollie for a while

Blogged under General, Big Thunder News, Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 30 November 2009 at 10:32 am

The Thunder will be without back-up point guard Kevin Ollie for a while as he is undergoing a minor knee procedure today. Ollie has played in 14 games (0 starts) this season and he is averaging 14.8 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. This explains the signing of Mike Wilks as the Thunder will need help in the backcourt with Ollie out of action.

The Seattle Supersonics will be without Luke Ridnour for 2-4 weeks

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Supersonics News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Thursday 15 November 2007 at 10:29 pm

Luke Ridnour will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a torn left quad. He has played in 6 games this season (2 starts) and he has averaged 15.2 minutes, 2.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Sonics won’t miss Ridnour too much while he’s out as Earl Watson and Delonte West have passed him up on the depth chart.

The Seattle Supersonics lose both of their point guards for the rest of the season

Just when you think it can’t get any worse for the Sonics, it does.  Both Earl Watson and Luke Ridnour will miss the last week and a half with ankle injuries.  Ridnour played in 71 games this season and he averaged 29.5 minutes, 11.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game.  Watson played in 77 games this season for the Sonics and he averaged 27.9 minutes, 9.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.  The Sonics are lucky this happened so late in the season or their season would have been even worse.

The Supersonics lose guard Ray Allen for the remainder of the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 2 April 2007 at 4:57 pm

Ray Allen recently had surgery to remove bone spurs in his left ankle and he will miss the remainder of the season.  This is a huge blow to the Sonics as they finish up a lost season.  They are built around their two stars (Allen and Rashard Lewis) and they both missed a large chunk of the season which explains the poor record they have this season.  Allen played in 55 games this season and he averaged 40.3 minutes, 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  He is impossible for them to replace.
