The Oklahoma City Thunder lose Eric Maynor for the rest of the 2011-12 season

The Thunder will be without 24-year old point guard Eric Maynor for the rest of the 2011-12 season due to a torn ACL. Maynor played in 9 games for the Thunder this year and he averaged 15.2 minutes, 4.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He has now played in 146 games in his first three years with the Thunder and he is averaging 15.4 minutes, 4.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. It will be up to 21-year old rookie Reggie Jackson to replace Maynor as Russell Westbrook’s caddy. Jackson has played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 9.3 minutes, 4.5 points, 0.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

The Oklahoma City Thunder lose Nate Robinson for the next 4-6 weeks

Blogged under General, Big Thunder News, Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Friday 4 March 2011 at 5:24 pm

The Thunder will be without 26-year old PG/SG Nate Robinson for the next 4-6 weeks after he had arthroscopic knee surgery yesterday. Robinson only played in 1 game for the Thunder working 8 minutes in which he scored 6 points, grabbed 1 rebound and he dished out 1 assist. It looks like the Celtics pulled a fast one on the Thunder by dealing them a pair of hurt players (Robinson & Kendrick Perkins) for a couple of healthy ones (Nenad Krstic & Jeff Green). That’s not too nice of them and I’m sure the other GMs around the league are taking note.

Kendrick Perkins will miss the next 2-3 weeks for the Oklahoma City Thunder

Blogged under General, Big Thunder News, Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Saturday 26 February 2011 at 4:49 pm

Newly acquired center Kendrick Perkins is going to miss the next 2-3 weeks due to a sprained MCL. This is a bad break for the Thunder but they still have Nazr Mohammed and Nick Collison to hold the fort until Perkins is ready to return to action. This would have been a big blow if the Thunder hadn’t picked up Mohammed in a deal at the trade deadline which makes me think that they knew Perkins was going to miss some time.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without Nick Collison for the first three weeks of the year

Blogged under General, Big Thunder News, Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 4:37 pm

Backup power forward Nick Collison will miss the first three weeks of the season due to a stress reaction in his left leg. This will cause a domino effect as far as P.T. on the Thunder’s bench. 2nd year PF/C Serge Ibaka is going to see a huge boost in P.T. because of Collison’s injury as he will be Jeff Green’s backup at power forward. Rookie Cole Aldrich will also see a bump in P.T. at center behind Nenad Krstic. At least the Thunder have decent youngsters ready for action but this injury could hurt them a little bit.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without James Harden for a while

Blogged under Big Thunder News, General, Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page, Rookie Reports, Injuries by alleyoop on Friday 12 March 2010 at 10:01 pm

The Thunder will be without rookie shooting guard James Harden for the next 2-4 weeks with a right hamstring strain. This will be a blow to the Thunder as Harden has played well this year for them. Harden has played in 63 games (0 starts) this season for the Thunder in which he has averaged 23.0 minutes, 9.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The Thunder will probably need starting shooting guard Thabo Sefolosha to step up and play more minutes while Harden is out. Sefolosha has played in 63 games (all starts) for the Thunder this season and he is averaging 28.9 minutes, 5.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
