Russell Westbrook is on fire for the Oklahoma City Thunder right now

22-year old point guard Russell Westbrook is proving to be much more than Kevin Durant’s sidekick so far this year. He has played in 13 games in January and he is averaging 37.6 minutes, 23.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Westbrook has 2 triple-doubles in January and he has 7 games of at least 20 points & 10 assists in January. He has now played in 47 games (all starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 36.3 minutes, 22.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.9 steals per game. The scary thing for the rest of the Western Conference is that Westbrook just continues to get better.

The Thunder just couldn’t finish today as the Heat outscored them 23-18 in the 4th quarter and it did them in. Kevin Durant only shot 7 of 20 from the floor but he still led the way for the Thunder today with 33 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals. Jeff Green came to play for the Thunder today as he had 23 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Russell Westbrook only shot 7 of 22 from the floor but he still wound up with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot. Daeqaun Cook was taken out of mothballs today as he finished up with 13 points and 4 rebounds in 31 minutes off the bench. The Thunder are now 30-17 on the year.

Oklahoma City Thunder 124, Washington Wizards 107 in 2 O.T.

The Thunder outrebounded the Wizards 55-43 last night but it wasn’t until the 2nd O.T. period when they outscored the Wizards 14-7 that they put them away. Kevin Durant led the way for the Thunder last night with 40 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Russell Westbrook had an outstanding game too as he recorded a triple-double with 35 points, 13 rebounds, 13 assists and 2 blocked shots. Jeff Green pitched in with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. The Thunder are now 30-16 on the year.

Oklahoma City Thunder 118, Minnesota Timberwolves 117 in O.T.

The Thunder were outrebounded 53-43 last night but they still won the game! Kevin Durant had a monster effort last night as he finished up with 47 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots! Jeff Green (19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal) and Russell Westbrook (16 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals) also had solid games for the Thunder last night. James Harden filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. The Thunder are now 29-16 on the season.

New Orleans Hornets 91, Oklahoma City Thunder 89

The Thunder outrebounded the Hornets 41-33 last night but it didn’t matter as Hornets’ power forward David West hit them with a dagger shot at the end of the game. Kevin Durant led the way for the Thunder in this game with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Jeff Green (19 points and 7 rebounds) and Russell Westbrook (18 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists and 1 steal) also had solid games last night for the Thunder. The Thunder are now 28-16 on the year.
