Eric Maynor is playing solid basketball for the Oklahoma City Thunder

Blogged under General, Steppin Up, Bloglockers, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 29 November 2010 at 9:06 pm

23-year old point guard Eric Maynor has been solid for the Thunder so far this year. Maynor has played in 17 games (0 starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 14.7 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He is shooting well, hitting 48.7% of his shots from the floor and 45% from three point range. Maynor is a key to the Thunder’s second unit as he keeps the offense going when Russell Westbrook needs a breather.

Serge Ibaka is off to a great start this year for the Oklahoma City Thunder

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 12:44 pm

21-year old PF/C Serge Ibaka started to show what he could do at the end of last season and in the playoffs. A injury to starting power forward Jeff Green has opened up a starting job for Ibaka and he is taking off with it. Ibaka has played in 11 games (5 starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 29.9 minutes, 12.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 2.6 blocked shots per game. He is shooting 59.1% from the floor and 82.9% from the free throw line already this year. Jeff Green had better get healthy soon because Ibaka is a much better defender and rebounder than he is.

Cole Aldrich is off to a slow start for the Oklahoma City Thunder

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 12:40 pm

22-year old center Cole Aldrich is off to a slow start for the Thunder. That’s because he’s buried on the depth chart at center right now. Aldrich has played in 5 games (0 starts) for the Thunder so far this year and he is averaging 9.6 minutes, 1.0 point and 2.2 rebounds per game so far this year. With the Thunder having sights on making a deep playoff run this year I can’t see them giving Aldrich many minutes this year unless there are injuries to some of the guys in front of him on the depth chart.

UPDATE: (11/25/2010) - The Thunder have sent Cole Aldrich to the D-League to play with the Tulsa 66ers. With Nenad Krstic, Nick Collison and Serge Ibaka ahead of Aldrich at center, this was the right move so he can start getting some P.T.

Jeff Green also had a solid game with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. Serge Ibaka pitched in with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots off the bench. The Thunder are now 3-2 on the year.

Los Angeles Clippers 107, Oklahoma City Thunder 92

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 4 November 2010 at 11:46 am

The Thunder didn’t play and D as the Clippers shot 52.5% from floor and they didn’t play any offense as they only shot 37.8% from the floor. That should explain the scoreboard. Jeff Green led the way for the Thunder last night with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Kevin Durant only shot 6 of 24 from the floor last night as he finished up with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots. Russell Westbrook only shot 5 of 16 from the floor as he finished up with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in this game. Serge Ibaka (14 points) and Daequan Cook (13 points) pitched in offensively for the Thunder last night. The Thunder are now 2-2 on the year.
