Back-up guard Kyle Weaver will undergo shoulder surgery later today and the Thunder will be without him indefinitely. Weaver played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Thunder this season and he was averaging 10.0 minutes, 6.0 points, 1.0 rebound, 1.7 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. This is a bad break for Weaver who was in line to get a chance to really show what he can do.

UPDATE: Weaver will likely miss the next four months due to his surgery.

The Thunder will be without back-up point guard Kevin Ollie for a while as he is undergoing a minor knee procedure today. Ollie has played in 14 games (0 starts) this season and he is averaging 14.8 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. This explains the signing of Mike Wilks as the Thunder will need help in the backcourt with Ollie out of action.

The Thunder outrebounded the Bucks 52-40 last night and they held them to 37.8% shooting from the floor which explains the easy win. Kevin Durant was a monster last night with 33 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Russell Westbrook was outstanding running the offense with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 blocked shots. Jeff Green pitched in with 17 points and 6 rebounds last night. The Oklahoma City Thunder sign Mike Wilks

Blogged under General, Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 27 November 2009 at 9:36 am

The Thunder have signed 30-year old PG/SG Mike Wilks. Wilks last played in the NBA during the 2007-08 season when he worked for the Nuggets, Wizards and Supersonics. He has played in 229 games (11 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 9.5 minutes, 2.5 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.2 assists per game. Wilks will provide depth at both guard spots for the Thunder but I wouldn’t get too excited about him.
