The Sonics acquire Jeff Green from the Celtics

Blogged under The Draft Report, Bloglockers, Big Supersonics News, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 29 June 2007 at 9:00 am

Green was the key part in the Ray Allen trade with the Celtics.  Jeff Green was the number 5 pick in the NBA Draft.  The 6?9?, 235 pound forward from Georgetown will likely pair with Kevin Durant at forward to give the Sonics a talented tandem.  Green played in 102 games at Georgetown and he averaged 13.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.  It will be interesting to see how the Sonics split up the forward minutes between Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox.

Talk about a team getting young fast and with lots of talent too boot! Now I am sure KC or OK city will throw everything at them to come to there city. Too bad seattle with all the money there from the tech companies wont pay for a new stadium.

The Supersonics will have little problem getting a new home. Too bad for the fans in Seattle…it will likely be somewhere else. The Sonics will be a bad team initially but they have potential to be a really good team in the near future.

Both players are signs and Carlesimo is coming in to coach them. Not sure if he was my first pick but he should do, at least until the team is relocated to Ok city or something
