The Sonics played well on offense (54.3% from the floor) and defense as the Suns only shot 38.9% from the floor and those are the reasons for the blowout last night.  Ray Allen led the way for the Sonics with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  Nick Collison had a monster game with 22 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists.  Rashard Lewis pitched in with 20 points and 3 rebounds.

The Sonics shot well last night as they hit 55.3% of their shots as a team and that’s why they won.  Ray Allen had a huge game with 33 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists.  Chris Wilcox also had a decent game with 17 points and 4 rebounds.

Injuries hurt the Sonics this season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 6 February 2007 at 3:05 pm

The Supersonics are 17-31 this season which is awful.  In their defense, the Sonics have suffered injuries to a lot of key players and they weren’t a deep team to begin with.  Ray Allen missed some time due to injury…and he can’t be replaced.  Also major injuries to Rashard Lewis and Danny Fortson have really hurt the team.  Without Lewis, Ray Allen is often double-teamed and he sometimes has trouble with that.  The Sonics are only really going 8 deep right now and that’s been hard on some of their players.  But Rashard Lewis is going to return so look for the Sonics to have a much better second half of the season.
