Sonics rookies will start to get more playing time

Blogged under Rookie Reports, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 3 February 2007 at 11:36 pm

The Sonics have had a lot of injuries this season so it would make sense for them to let their rookies play a little more.  Forward Mickael Gelebale has moved into the starting line up at small forward and he’s done a decent job.  He has played 40 games and he’s averaging 4.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists.  He’s also shooting a pretty good 48% from the floor.

Center Mouhamed Sene keeps bouncing between the Sonics and the D-League.  They might as well let him stay with the Sonics and back up Nick Collison.  Sene has played in 18 games this season and he’s averaging 5.1 minutes, 1.4 points and 1.0 rebound.  His shooting needs to improve as it’s sitting at 36.4%.

Forward/Center Andre Brown has played well when he’s gotten the chance.  He has played in 11 games and is averaging 8.9 minutes, 4.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.1 assists.
