The Sonics benefitted from two superhuman efforts to seal this win for them.  One of those efforts way turned in by Ray Allen who was unstoppable.  Allen scored 54 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.  Allen also hit an incredible 8 of 12 from three point range!  Nick Collison had another awesome game with 25 points and 13 rebounds.

Injuries derailing the Sonics season

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 7:55 pm

The Sonics are in last place in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference.  The Sonics are 13-23 on the season and 12 games out of first place.  The Sonics have had multiple serious injuries that have crippled them this season as Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Robert Swift (out for season) and Danny Fortson have all missed alot of time.  Ray Allen has played well when healthy as he is averaging 24.7 points per game.  Luke Ridnour (14.3 points) and Chris Wilcox (12.6 points) have picked up their offense a bit, but with all the injuries the Sonics look like a team that will have alot of numbered balls in the draft lottery.

Earl Watson getting more PT

Blogged under Steppin Out, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 7 January 2007 at 1:43 pm

The Sonics have been going with a small lineup alot lately and have been trying to outrun teams.  That has benefitted Earl Watson as his playing time has increased lately.  In his last 8 games, Watson has averaged 31.4 minutes, 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game during that stretch of games.  Earl is a good back-up point guard, but he’s been showing the ability to take on more responsibility in the offense for the Sonics.
