Sonics blasted 99-84 by the Bulls

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 14 December 2006 at 10:06 am

The Sonics never really had a chance in this game.  Rashard Lewis was tough last night with 18 points and 13 rebounds.  Damien Wilkins had a good all-around game with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.  Johan Petro had a great game off the bench with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Luke Ridnour had a rough night as he only hit 4 of 14 from the floor and wound up with 11 points.  Mickael Gelebale came off the bench and scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.

The Sonics fell to 10-13 with this loss.

Sonics nipped by Bucks 94-93

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 13 December 2006 at 10:28 am

The Sonics out-rebounded the Bucks 40-33 and shot 51.3% from the floor…..and still lost the game!  Rashard Lewis led the way with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Chris Wilcox was tough around the basket with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals.  Damien Wilkins added 15 points.  Nick Collison scored 12 points and snatched 6 rebounds.  Luke Ridnour did a good job of directing the offense with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists.  Johan Petro scored 12 points and snatched 9 rebounds.

This was a tough loss for the Sonics that dropped them to 10-12 on the season.

Sonics not getting much from their rookies

Blogged under Rookie Reports, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 13 December 2006 at 1:26 am

Mouhamed Sene was the Sonics first round pick but he hasn’t done much.  Sene has played in 8 games and has averaged 5.1 minutes, 0.3 points and 1.0 rebound per game so far this season.  Eventually, Sene should get some playing time at some point of the season, but he’s pretty raw.

Mickael Gelabale has played in 14 games and has averaged 8.4 minutes, 1.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game so far this season.

Andreas Glyniadakis has played in 6 games and has averaged 5.4 minutes, 0.7 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game so far this season.

Desmon Farmer has only played in 3 games and has averaged 2.1 minutes, 0.7 points and 0.7 assists per game so far this season.

The Sonics draft isn’t looking too good so far.

Ray Allen injured

Blogged under Front Page, Injuries by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 12:23 am

Ray Allen has a right ankle injury that could keep him out until late December, unless it requires surgery to solve the problem.  If he has surgery he could miss up to 3 months.  The Sonics really hope that rest and treatment will heal Allen’s ankle, because he’s the best player on the team.  He’s averaging 25.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game so far this season.

Danny Fortson to miss some more time

Blogged under Front Page, Injuries by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 12:19 am

Danny Fortson could miss a couple of more weeks with soreness in his knee.  The Sonics need him to get healthy because he brings toughness and a nasty attitude to the Sonics second unit.
