On the bright side, the Sonics shot a healthy 51.2% from the floor.  On the awful side, the Sonics were outscored 58-39 in the second hald and were outrebounded 39-28 by the Mavericks.  The worst part about the game is that Rashard Lewis suffered a major injury after playing only 1 minute.  He will miss up to 8 weeks.

Luke Ridnour did his best to keep the Sonics in the game with 21 points and 9 assists.  Chris Wilcox was tough around the rim with 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Earl Watson was really busy with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.  Damien Wilkins added 11 points and Mickael Gelebale scored 10 points off the bench.

Chris Wilcox playing well

The Sonics always liked how Chris Wilcox played in his limited minutes for the Clippers so they traded Vladimir Radmanovic to the Clippers for him at the trade deadline last season.  The Sonics immediately inserted Wilcox into the starting line-up and he has produced for them.  Wilcox is averaging 11.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game so far this season.  He’s also shooting an outstanding 53.3% from the floor this year.

Sonics blasted 106-84 by Cavs

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 16 December 2006 at 11:48 am

The Sonics only shot 36.5% from the floor and allowed the Cavs to hit 54.2% from the floor.  That is no way to win and the Sonics didn’t come close to doing so.  Chris Wilcox came off the bench and scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.  Mickael Gelabale had a good game in a rare start with 16 points and 8 rebounds.  Earl Watson scored 10 points and dished out 6 assists off the bench.  Rashard Lewis had a bad night shooting (3 of 12) and wound up with only 10 points and 4 assists.  Nick Collison was tough in the paint with 8 points and 12 rebounds.

The Sonics fell to 10-14 with this loss.
