Ray Allen nearing return

Blogged under Front Page, Injuries by Nothing but Net on Saturday 23 December 2006 at 2:29 pm

Ray Allen could play tonight for the first time since December 5th.  This couldn’t come at a better time for the Sonics after losing Rashard Lewis for the next two months.  Allen is averaging 25.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals so far this season.  Allen’s return should give the Sonics a huge lift.

Rashard Lewis seriously injured

Blogged under Front Page, Injuries by Nothing but Net on Saturday 23 December 2006 at 2:26 pm

Rashard Lewis will miss up to 2 months after tearing a tendon in his shooting hand.  This will be a devastating loss to the Sonics, as he is their second best player on the team.  Lewis is averaging 21.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game so far this season.  Lewis also is the team’s best 3-point shooter this season as he’s hitting 40.3% of his 3-pointers this season.  The Sonics will be lucky to keep afloat if Lewis really has to miss 2 months.
